This is an awesome addition to my Flir Breach. Was getting tired of running through 123 batteries which seemed to be way less tahan 90 minutes worth even though I was only using it in 5-10 minute increments. And RCR-123 were even worse; don’t last long at all. So I purchased the battery extender (fine thread) and some Orbtronics 16650 2500mAh batteries. The 16650 batteries work great and last much longer. I haven’t timed how long yet. The thing that bothered me at first was how to get the cap to screw on as the rubber “tether” is not long enough so I had to remove the end that fits on the Breach body and that end kind of dangled. Then I discovered (maybe I’m a slow learner) what is not mentioned in the description is that there is a cut out indention on the extender where the “tether” can be mounted the same way as on the Breach originally so the cap is connected to the extender when changing batteries. This might be obvious to most but to me it was not when I first installed the extender. Now that i figured how to install the cap “tether” everything is great! Thanks for a simple but awesome product accessory! I highly recommend anyone that owns a Breach get an extender. I’ve seen comments on some forums about how far it sticks out when mounted. Don’t let that discourage you; it extends 1 3/8″ further than the original battery cap and doesn’t get in the way of anything. It’s a great product which allows you to really extend viewing time with your Breach. I also have an external battery pack to use with the Breach but it’s kind of a pain when using because you have to either hold the battery pack in your hand or stick it in a pocket with the cable getting caught on everything. The extender, at least for me, works much better.
