Description TEFLON (PTFE) BALL – 1/2″ – PACK OF 25 Available in the following sizes: 3/16″” (4.76MM) 1/4″ (6.35MM) 5/16″ (7.93MM) 3/8″ (9.525MM) PTFE (Teflon): Strengths: Excellent chemical resistance: Inert to most chemicals, acids, and solvents. Low coefficient of friction: Provides excellent lubricity, minimizing wear and friction. High temperature resistance: Can withstand high temperatures without significant degradation. Weaknesses: Lower strength and stiffness: Compared to Torlon, PTFE is relatively soft and less resistant to deformation under load. Higher creep: Can deform under sustained load, especially at higher temperatures. Lower wear resistance: While it has low friction, it can wear down more easily than Torlon in high-wear applications. Typical Applications: Bearings, seals, gaskets, chemical-resistant linings, non-stick coatings. Torlon (PAI): Strengths: High strength and stiffness: Can withstand high loads and maintain dimensional stability. Excellent wear resistance: Resists wear and abrasion in demanding applications. High temperature resistance: Maintains mechanical properties at high temperatures. Good chemical resistance: Resistant to a wide range of chemicals, though not as resistant as PTFE. Low thermal expansion: Maintains dimensional stability across temperature changes.
