Description African wax prints, also known as Ankara and Dutch wax prints, are popularly used in clothes making in Africa, and especially in West Africa. Their features include: Batik-inspired printing. No difference in colour intensity between the front and back sides of the fabric.  Some wax prints are named after people, places, sayings, or occasions. They are made by melting wax and then creating patterns with it across the blank cloth. Wax prints enable nonverbal communication between African women, and help to showcase their expressions around the world.
