Most of the 250 species of Bumblebee live in colonies with a single queen, just like honey bees. The difference is that their colonies are much smaller than honey bees and there will be only 50 bees or less in each colony. Bumblebees eat nectar just like honey bees and although the females do have a sting, they very rarely use it except in defence of their colony.
