He did Ph.D from BBAU, Lucknow, M.Phil. from Bundelkhand University. Prior to joining BBAU, he worked as guest faculty at the Central University of Jammu,  Research Associate at ICAR-National Institute of Agricultural Economics & Policy Research, New Delhi, and Senior Research Fellow at ICAR- Indian Agriculture Statistics Research Institute, New Delhi. He has been published more than 60 papers in highly cited and internationally recognized journals. He also wrote a book "Climate Change and Agriculture in India: Vulnerability to Adaptation. He is currently teaching Master's and Ph.D students. His major research area are climate change, Indian agriculture, livelihood security, food security, livelihood vulnerability of rural farmers and urban slum dwellers, rural credit, farmers' perception of climate change.Dr. Mohamad Awais is currently working in the Centre of Agricultural Education, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh.  He did M.Sc.
