20th Century India witnessed tremendous development in the field of Dance, Theatre and Cinema. The same trend is visible in the case of the North East Indian states too. \nThe Manipuri dance has its own tradition and heritage rooted in the local environment. The Manipuri dance which is characterised by exquisite hand and body elevated to the status of an Indian classical dance form during the second quarter of the 20th century.
